MAKING THE MOVE

The VAZZO empire continues to grow and not just in Joplin. VAZZO Companies, which has had a presence in downtown Joplin for many years, is expanding with the acquisition of the NEO Tech building at 2816 S. Main St.
Kimberly Favazzo Patrum, owner of the company, said she has relocated VAZZO Companies and the VAZZO Creative Full Service Marketing firm to the new location, while she continues to operate the VAZZO building at 512 S. Joplin Ave., and three storefronts on the east side of the 900 block of South Main Street. The storefronts are home to VAZZO Promotional Products, the Beaten Path Coffee Co & Gallery, and the Mint Cove Clothing Store.
She said the building at 512 S. Joplin Ave. is being expanded to create more options for bridal suites and business offices on its second floor. Saying she is thankful to be part of Joplin’s downtown revival, she said, “Watching it evolve like it has been is really exciting.’’
Favazzo Patrum, who hails from Seneca, also is developing some commercial property in that town.

The husband and wife team behind VAZZO Companies has another venture in the works for the community of Seneca.
VAZZO Suites will open for business in late Fall 2022, said Owner Kimberly Favazzo Patrum. Favazzo Patrum and her husband, Danny Patrum, decided to open boutique lodging to guests visiting Seneca when they saw a need in the area.
“With so many attractions in and surrounding Seneca, we realized there needed to be more vacation rental options in the area,” Favazzo Patrum said. “Our guests will be able to enjoy the comfort and hospitality of small town America while being just minutes from area attractions that draw visitors from all over the country.”
VAZZO Suites, 340 Cherokee Avenue in Seneca, comprises two rentals. The first is an Executive King Suite and the second is a Standard Queen Suite. Each will sleep four guests and include a fully stocked kitchenette and amenities such as guest-controlled air conditioning and heat, WiFi, Smart TVs, and more.
The two suites are located in a building that was most recently a Used Car Dealership. They purchased the building earlier this year and began renovations this summer.
“It’s been exciting breathing new life in the building,” Favazzo Patrum said. “When we first bought it, it was in such disrepair so seeing the new exterior and walls going up is really gratifying. When it’s finished, it’ll offer a modern, luxury experience but will also be very cute and inviting.”
Guests will be able to book a stay at VAZZO Suites through the VAZZO Companies website (www.vazzosuites.com). VAZZO Suites is situated less than ten minutes away from seven casinos including Indigo Sky Casino, Downstream Casino Resort, and Buffalo Run Casino. It’s located within a half hour of all Joplin, Neosho, and all area colleges. Nearby natural attractions include Grand Falls, Wildcat Glades, and Buffalo Hills Natural Area.
VAZZO Suites will also be just 12 minutes from 4-State Moto Complex, a new state-of-the-art motocross track that is drawing motocross enthusiasts from around the country.
“We want visitors to the area to stay in Seneca,” Favazzo Patrum said. “Whether you are coming to Seneca to visit family and friends, go to one of the casinos, a motocross event, or for any reason, we’re excited to provide a place to stay that promotes tourism in downtown Seneca. We have so much terrific shopping and dining downtown, and we want to encourage our guests to see what the community has to offer.” She added that all too often, visitors to the area stay in hotels in Joplin or at one of the casinos and miss out on the small town charm of surrounding communities like Seneca.
The official launch date is still undetermined but the Favazzos hope to have VAZZO Suites open for business in November 2022.
VAZZO Suites is the fourth branch under the umbrella of VAZZO Companies. The other enterprises are VAZZO Creative, a full-service marketing company; VAZZO Promotional Products, business printing and merchandising; and VAZZO Venue, two event venues located in Joplin and Seneca as well as chair and table rental.

We have so much terrific shopping and dining downtown, and we want to encourage our guests to see what the community has to offer.” She added that all too often, visitors to the area stay in hotels in Joplin or at one of the casinos and miss out on the small town charm of surrounding communities like Seneca.
The official launch date is still undetermined but the Favazzos hope to have VAZZO Suites open for business in November 2022.
VAZZO Suites is the fourth branch under the umbrella of VAZZO Companies. The other enterprises are VAZZO Creative, a full-service marketing company; VAZZO Promotional Products, business printing and merchandising; and VAZZO Venue, two event venues located in Joplin and Seneca as well as chair and table rental.

The event venue is located in a fully-renovated, historic building in Downtown Seneca. The building is stone on the outside with stone and exposed brick inside. Owner Kimberly Favazzo Patrum’s goal for VAZZO Venue Seneca is to provide a modern facility for birthdays, graduations, showers, corporate parties, game night, meetings and other events in Seneca and the surrounding area.
“We set out to create a historic yet modern feel for the venue and I think we accomplished that,” Favazzo Patrum said. “Seneca is my hometown, so I’m excited to help drive business to downtown Seneca and promote the community as a hub for family, fun and entertainment.” You may know the Favazzo Family. Nicholas and Sally Favazzo moved their family to Seneca, MO in 1989. Nicholas retired as a Driving Instructor from Crowder College in 2005 and Sally retired from Tamko Roofing Products in the Spring of 2021. Both her older brothers, Stephen, David and twin sister, Katie, attended Seneca High School. Most people know Kimberly as Kimmie, and she is proud to be an Alumni, Class of 1997. Kimberly and her husband, Danny, are excited to carry on the Seneca tradition with their two children, Nicholas and Olivia who will be future graduates of Seneca Schools.

Seneca is located on Lost Creek, approximately one-quarter mile from the Missouri-Oklahoma state line. Missouri Route 43 passes through the town and U.S. Route 60 passes just south of the location. Having her own piece of history has always been an inspiration for Kimberly Favazzo Patrum, owner of VAZZO Companies. The desire to take something from history and bring it back to life has always fascinated her, and Downtown Joplin seemed like the best place to make this dream a reality. Fortunately, in March of 2017, Kimberly was finally able to work towards this dream when she purchased the new home of VAZZO at 512 S. Joplin, in the historic district of downtown Joplin.
This remarkable building in the old bar district has served many significant roles in the past starting out first as a bar, then a print shop, and finally as a stainless glass shop, after which it sat vacant until now. With a historic, industrial, and modern design aesthetic in mind, the building is now going through renovations to return it to its former glory. Adding an original date stamp to the outside is at the top of the list for Patrum’s ideal re-creation of this historic location. In addition, while she has also started renovations to expose and reseal the brick and to create a more functional use of the warehouse space, she has several more exciting plans to restore and revamp the space. From the history, to the innovation, to the modern design, there is no doubt that the future home of VAZZO will embody the persona of everything they are trying to achieve in original and forward-thinking planning and design.

The appeal of taking something from history and bringing it back to life has always fascinated Kimberly Favazzo Patrum, owner of VAZZO Creative, an innovative, full-service marketing firm. So when she got the opportunity to create a new home for her company at 512 S. Joplin Ave, a locale alive with history, she couldn’t resist. With a historic, industrial, and modern design aesthetic in mind, Kimberly has succeeded in transforming the location back to its former glory. Exposing an abundance of gorgeous brick and stone in addition to showcasing the original art deco tin ceilings are only a few of the amazing discoveries on display. The beauty that was uncovered, inspired Patrum to add on a new element to VAZZO companies: VAZZO Venue, the perfect setting for intimate gatherings in a captivating space.
While uncovering countless charming features within the building, Patrum was also thrilled to discover the dynamic past of the space as well. Beginning as a Sorber-Kuhn Auto Supply Company back in 1916 followed by the Joplin Pleating and Button Company in the 1920’s it was soon transformed into The Grand Union Tea Company, a door-to-door grocery store that delivered goods in horse-drawn carriages, until the supermarket was developed and Crescent Grocery took over. In later years, the location also served as a bar, a print shop, and finally as a stainless glass shop. Buying downtown allowed Patrum to bring this piece of history back to life by peeling back the layers of the past and restoring the location to its original, breathtaking design.
Now that VAZZO Creative and VAZZO Venue have settled comfortably into the historic district, Patrum continues her goal to help rejuvenate and repopulate the downtown Joplin area. In an effort to both promote the newest VAZZO venture and to help beautify the area, 909 S. Main now serves as a charming window display for VAZZO Promotional Products, fulfilling the needs of any promotional products a company may desire.
The modernization of the 900 block continues with Patrum’s recent rentals at 909 ½ S. Main housing an up-and-coming Beaten Path Coffee Co and Primpin Salon and Boutique. These additions are helping to clean up, modernize, and enhance the “Shop Local” atmosphere that is bringing Downtown Joplin back to life. While growing her own business is, of course, especially important, Patrum understands the bigger picture in the growth and improvement of the Downtown area as well.
The Joplin Downtown area is currently thriving with events such as Downtown Joplin Alliance Third Thursday and First Friday Wine Share. In addition to the influx of local boutiques and restaurants, Downtown is quickly converting into a stylish destination and gathering place for the community. With the abundance of locals investing their time and money into renovations such as the Joplin Empire Market and Spiva Center for the Arts, more unique opportunities for shopping, eating, and entertainment for all ages are bound to appear creating an atmosphere of enjoyment and acceptance for the entire downtown area.
